About

Award-winning composer Federico Bueno (b.1996) writes for diverse settings such as acoustic, electroacoustic, intermedia, and interdisciplinary. He is interested in exploring timber and sound and how these materials interact, using technology, dance, literature, and theater as paths to awaken our own pathos in the philosophical, social, and modern issues of our day.
He regularly collaborates with several performers and ensembles, including Compañía Oblicua, Galan Trio, Vertixe Sonora, ASU Brass Ensemble, and ASU Symphony Orchestra.

His music has been performed in festivals like Visiones Sonoras or in radio programs such as Electronic Frequencies by Concertzender Radio and has been performed across the United States, Argentina, Mexico, the Netherlands, and with Galan Trio in Athens, Greece, which included a research travel experience that concluded in the presentations of the pieces in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
 
He studied composition at Universidad Pontificia Católica Argentina, completed his master’s at Georgia Southern University, where he studied with Dr. Martín Gendelman and Dr. John Thompson. During his time at Georgia Southern University, he was president of the Society of Music Composers, dedicated to the performance and promotion of student composers. Since 2025, he has been pursuing his DMA at Arizona State University.
He is also focused on music production, editing, and composing for documentaries, series, and films, as well as education in music and music technology.
